Primavera

Description: Santo Andre, Sao Paulo, Brazil. This mural was a part of the MacArthur International Connection Fund Grant. This mural depicts the occupation and history of the land rights struggle in this neighborhood.

 

Rezek

Description: This mural was created with youth experiencing homelessness on the exterior of  a temporary housing unit for the youth. This project was made possible by Lutheran Social Services, Kulture Klub Collaborative and grants from the MN state arts board and Travelers Insurance.

After the Storm

Chicago, IL. After the storm was created with 15 youth from the Garfield Park neighborhood. This mural was collaboratively designed and painted by 15 youth artists and myself.

 

Gamboa: Mutirao/Sala de Capoeira

Description: Santo Andre, Sao Paulo, Brazil. This mural was a part of the MacArthur International Connection Fund Grant. This mural depicts the collective efforts of residents to provide basic human services in their own neighborhood, as well as the building of a community center.

 

Muro de Campo

Year Completed: 2010

Description:  Igaraí, SP, Brazil This is a collaboration Gruppo Tumm youth artists, local Artist Rogerio Rosa, POA IL-SP chapter Travel Grant, FAF, Residents of Igaraí and many more collaborators with artist Jon Nueman and myself. This mural commemorates local history and celebrates local identity. The content for this mural was developed through interviews that youth deigned and conducted with local elders.

 

New Beginnings

Description: Central Park and Van Buren, East Garfield Park, Chicago, IL This mural was created with 15 youth from the neighborhood, and 2 youth from Little Village who were enrolled in a summer youth program through The Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance.
